The item engages doctors as contract medical practitioners, part-time dental surgeons and part-time lady doctors included.

- The DRM exercises his power on the recommendations of a committee headed by the CMS, with the Sr DPO and the Sr DFM
- The CWM does so on the recommendation of a committee headed by one SAG doctor he nominates
- That committee carries one JAG personnel officer and one JAG finance officer
- Where officers of that grade are not posted under the CWM, they are nominated from the nearest division by its DRM
- The MD of a zonal hospital acts on a committee headed by one SAG doctor he nominates
- The other two members are the Dy CPO (HQ) and the Dy FA&CAO (HQ)
- The GM or CAO of a PU, or the DG/RDSO, acts on a committee headed by the CMO
- That committee too carries one JAG personnel officer and one JAG finance officer
- For engaging a part-time DENTAL SURGEON, an IRMS dental surgeon not below JAG is included in the committee
- One member not below JA Grade belonging to SC or ST may be CO-OPTED if not already on the committee
- That member is nominated by the DRM, CWM, MD, GM or CAO of the PU, or the DG/RDSO
- Part-time lady doctors are engaged on lines similar to part-time dental surgeons, for hospitals and health units which have none

- उसके अन्य दो सदस्य उप सीपीओ (मुख्यालय) और उप वित्त सलाहकार एवं मुख्य लेखाधिकारी (मुख्यालय) हैं
- पीयू के महाप्रबंधक या सीएओ, अथवा डीजी/आरडीएसओ, सीएमओ की अध्यक्षता वाली समिति पर चलते हैं
- उस समिति में भी एक जेएजी कार्मिक अधिकारी और एक जेएजी वित्त अधिकारी होते हैं
- अंशकालिक दंत शल्य चिकित्सक लगाने पर समिति में जेएजी से नीचे का न हो ऐसा आईआरएमएस दंत शल्य चिकित्सक शामिल होता है
- अनुसूचित जाति या जनजाति का, जेए ग्रेड से नीचे का न हो ऐसा एक सदस्य, समिति में न हो तो सहयोजित किया जा सकता है
- उस सदस्य को मंडल रेल प्रबंधक, सीडब्ल्यूएम, एमडी, पीयू के महाप्रबंधक या सीएओ, अथवा डीजी/आरडीएसओ नामित करते हैं
- अंशकालिक महिला चिकित्सक अंशकालिक दंत शल्य चिकित्सकों की तरह लगाई जाती हैं, उन अस्पतालों और स्वास्थ्य इकाइयों के लिए जहाँ वे नहीं हैं
