Your pay under the 7th Central Pay Commission rests on four figures, and almost every question uses one of them.

• 18 LEVELS of pay in the Pay Matrix, of which the Railways use 17
• MINIMUM basic pay of RS 18,000 a month
• MAXIMUM pay of RS 2,50,000 a month
• A FITMENT FACTOR of 2.57, by which 6th CPC pay was multiplied

The 7th CPC pay structure took effect from 01.01.2016. Learn them as one set. If you know these four, you can place any pay question in the matrix.सातवें केंद्रीय वेतन आयोग में आपका वेतन चार आँकड़ों पर टिका है, और लगभग हर प्रश्न इनमें से एक काम में लाता है।

• वेतन मैट्रिक्स में 18 वेतन स्तर, जिनमें से रेलवे 17 काम में लाती है

MOVING ALONG A LEVEL, AND MOVING UPस्तर पर आगे बढ़ना, और ऊपर चढ़ना

The matrix has two directions, and the words for them are asked apart.

• A move ALONG a level, to the next cell, is your ANNUAL INCREMENT
• A move UP to the NEXT LEVEL is a PROMOTION

The annual increment is 3 PER CENT of pay. Increment dates are 1 JANUARY and 1 JULY, so you draw your increment on whichever of the two falls due for you.मैट्रिक्स में दो दिशाएँ हैं, और उनके शब्द अलग-अलग पूछे जाते हैं।

वार्षिक वेतनवृद्धि वेतन का 3 प्रतिशत है। वेतनवृद्धि की तिथियाँ 1 जनवरी और 1 जुलाई हैं, इसलिए दोनों में से जो आपके लिए देय हो, उसी दिन आपको वेतनवृद्धि मिलती है।

DEARNESS ALLOWANCE, TWICE A YEARमहँगाई भत्ता, वर्ष में दो बार

Dearness allowance is revised TWICE A YEAR. The revisions take effect from 1 JANUARY and from 1 JULY. They are worked out on the ALL INDIA CONSUMER PRICE INDEX. So the same two dates carry your increment and your dearness allowance, and several allowances below move with the dearness allowance as well.महँगाई भत्ता वर्ष में दो बार संशोधित होता है। संशोधन 1 जनवरी और 1 जुलाई से प्रभावी होते हैं। ये अखिल भारतीय उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक पर निकाले जाते हैं। अर्थात् वही दो तिथियाँ आपकी वेतनवृद्धि और आपका महँगाई भत्ता, दोनों लाती हैं, और नीचे के कई भत्ते भी महँगाई भत्ते के साथ चलते हैं।
