A retired railway servant may be issued ONE SET of the Post Retirement Complimentary Pass or Widow Pass IN ADVANCE of the current calendar year, for journeys beginning in the next year — the issue is then debited to the next year's account.सेवानिवृत्त रेल सेवक को चालू कैलेंडर वर्ष से पहले, अगले वर्ष आरंभ होने वाली यात्राओं हेतु, सेवानिवृत्ति उपरांत मानार्थ पास या विधवा पास का एक सेट अग्रिम जारी किया जा सकता है — तब यह अगले वर्ष के खाते में डाला जाता है।

TWENTY YEARS of service is the gate for a post-retirement pass, and above that gate the number of sets rises with service and with group. A retired GAZETTED officer with 20 but under 25 years drew 2 sets a year and with 25 years or more 3 sets; a GROUP 'C' servant 1 set and 2 sets on the same thresholds; a GROUP 'D' servant 1 set a year once past 20 years. Check the current circular before relying on the counts — the scheme has been revised since, and the 20-year gate is the durable part.सेवानिवृत्ति पास के लिए बीस वर्ष की सेवा प्रवेश-शर्त है, और उसके ऊपर सेटों की संख्या सेवा तथा समूह के साथ बढ़ती है। 20 से 25 वर्ष से कम सेवा वाले सेवानिवृत्त राजपत्रित अधिकारी को वर्ष में 2 सेट और 25 वर्ष या अधिक पर 3 सेट मिलते थे; समूह 'ग' के सेवक को उन्हीं सीमाओं पर 1 और 2 सेट; समूह 'घ' के सेवक को 20 वर्ष पूरे होने पर वर्ष में 1 सेट। संख्याओं पर भरोसा करने से पहले चालू परिपत्र देखें — योजना बाद में संशोधित हुई है, और बीस वर्ष की शर्त ही स्थायी अंश है।

The VALIDITY of that pass is FIVE MONTHS from the date of issue. Advance issue does not extend validity — it only lets the retired servant hold the pass before the year turns.उस पास की वैधता जारी होने की तिथि से पाँच माह है। अग्रिम जारी करने से वैधता नहीं बढ़ती — इससे केवल सेवानिवृत्त सेवक वर्ष बदलने से पहले पास रख पाता है।

A retired railway servant ABOVE 65 YEARS may take a COMPANION in place of an attendant on a first class or first class 'A' pass — but only if no other eligible family member BELOW 65 is already included on that pass.65 वर्ष से अधिक आयु का सेवानिवृत्त रेल सेवक प्रथम श्रेणी अथवा प्रथम श्रेणी 'क' के पास पर परिचारक के स्थान पर एक साथी ले जा सकता है — किंतु तभी जब उस पास पर 65 वर्ष से कम आयु का कोई अन्य पात्र परिवार सदस्य पहले से सम्मिलित न हो।

Eligibility for the Widow Pass follows from the 1987 rule. The widow of a railway servant who was in service on 12 March 1987 and OPTED for the scheme, and the widow of anyone who joined on or after that date, are both eligible.विधवा पास की पात्रता 1987 के नियम से आती है। जो रेल सेवक 12 मार्च 1987 को सेवा में था और योजना चुनी उसकी विधवा, तथा उस तिथि को या उसके बाद आए किसी की भी विधवा, दोनों पात्र हैं।

The widow's complimentary pass is HALF the number of post-retirement passes — that proportion is the examinable figure, and it applies to widows of employees who were in service on or after 12 MARCH 1987.विधवा का सम्मानार्थ पास सेवानिवृत्ति पास की संख्या का आधा होता है — यही अनुपात परीक्षा में पूछा जाता है, और यह उन कर्मचारियों की विधवाओं पर लागू है जो 12 मार्च 1987 को अथवा उसके बाद सेवा में थे।

While still IN SERVICE, a railway servant covered by the Widow Pass scheme is eligible for 4 SETS of PTOs in a calendar year. The scheme affects the serving employee's entitlement, not only the widow's.सेवा में रहते हुए भी विधवा पास योजना से आच्छादित रेल सेवक कैलेंडर वर्ष में 4 सेट पीटीओ का पात्र है। यह योजना केवल विधवा के नहीं, सेवारत कर्मचारी के हक को भी प्रभावित करती है।
