A DEPENDENT RELATIVE is defined by a closed list — the mother, including a divorced mother; an unmarried or widowed sister; a legally divorced sister; a brother or step-brother under twenty-one; an invalid brother of any age; and a brother over twenty-one who is a bona fide student.आश्रित संबंधी एक बंद सूची से परिभाषित है — माता, तलाकशुदा माता सहित; अविवाहित या विधवा बहन; विधिक रूप से तलाकशुदा बहन; इक्कीस वर्ष से कम आयु का भाई या सौतेला भाई; किसी भी आयु का अशक्त भाई; तथा इक्कीस वर्ष से अधिक का वह भाई जो वास्तविक छात्र हो।

A WIDOW MOTHER-IN-LAW is a dependent relative in the case of a widow appointed on compassionate grounds — and she qualifies whether or not her own father is alive. The rule exists precisely because that household has already lost its earner.अनुकंपा आधार पर नियुक्त विधवा के मामले में विधवा सास आश्रित संबंधी है — और वह पात्र है चाहे उसके पिता जीवित हों या नहीं। यह नियम इसीलिए है क्योंकि वह परिवार पहले ही अपना कमाने वाला खो चुका है।

There is an INCOME TEST. A person is not a dependent relative if income from all sources, including pension and dearness relief, exceeds 15 PER CENT of the railway servant's monthly pay, OR the minimum pension of Rs 9,000 plus the dearness relief on it — WHICHEVER IS MORE.एक आय परीक्षण है। कोई व्यक्ति आश्रित संबंधी नहीं है यदि पेंशन और महँगाई राहत सहित सभी स्रोतों से उसकी आय रेल सेवक के मासिक वेतन के 15 प्रतिशत से, अथवा 9,000 रुपये की न्यूनतम पेंशन और उस पर महँगाई राहत से — जो भी अधिक हो — अधिक हो जाए।

Read the words WHICHEVER IS MORE carefully. The two figures are alternatives and the higher one applies, so a junior employee is not penalised by having a smaller 15 per cent — the pension floor protects him.'जो भी अधिक हो' शब्दों को ध्यान से पढ़ें। दोनों आँकड़े विकल्प हैं और ऊँचा वाला लागू होता है, अतः कनिष्ठ कर्मचारी को छोटा 15 प्रतिशत होने से हानि नहीं होती — पेंशन की न्यूनतम सीमा उसकी रक्षा करती है।

An ATTENDANT means a person EXCLUSIVELY EMPLOYED ON SALARY in the personal service of a railway servant. A relative helping out is not an attendant, however useful.परिचर का अर्थ है वह व्यक्ति जो रेल सेवक की व्यक्तिगत सेवा में विशेष रूप से वेतन पर नियोजित हो। सहायता करने वाला कोई संबंधी परिचर नहीं है, चाहे कितना ही उपयोगी हो।

An ADOPTED CHILD counts wherever there is satisfactory proof of adoption — and expressly IRRESPECTIVE of whether the adoption is permissible under the personal law governing the railway servant. The Pass Rules do not send anyone to their personal law on this.गोद लिया बच्चा वहाँ गिना जाता है जहाँ गोद लेने का संतोषजनक प्रमाण हो — और स्पष्ट रूप से इससे निरपेक्ष कि रेल सेवक पर लागू व्यक्तिगत विधि में वह गोद लेना अनुमत है या नहीं। पास नियम इस विषय पर किसी को उसकी व्यक्तिगत विधि के पास नहीं भेजते।
