A non-gazetted railway servant in the lowest pass levels gets ONE SET of privilege passes up to the end of the FIFTH YEAR of railway service, and THREE SETS thereafter. VALIDITY IS NOT THE SAME FOR ALL THREE, and that is what gets asked. A RETURN JOURNEY pass is available for FOUR MONTHS from the date of issue. A railway servant who JOINED ON OR AFTER 12 March 1987 is COMPULSORILY governed by the Widow Pass scheme. One who was already in service on that date had a CHOICE — to opt into the scheme or stay out of it.जो रेल सेवक 12 मार्च 1987 को या उसके बाद सेवा में आया वह विधवा पास योजना से अनिवार्यतः शासित है। जो उस तिथि को पहले से सेवा में था उसके पास विकल्प था — योजना में आना या बाहर रहना।

The deputation benefit is TIME-BOUND and the period depends on where he went. Deputation to a PUBLIC SECTOR UNDERTAKING carries the benefit for THREE YEARS; deputation elsewhere for FOUR YEARS. Deputation to a TRADE UNION carries it not at all.प्रतिनियुक्ति का यह लाभ समयबद्ध है और अवधि इस पर निर्भर है कि वह कहाँ गया। सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उपक्रम में प्रतिनियुक्ति पर यह लाभ तीन वर्ष तक; अन्यत्र प्रतिनियुक्ति पर चार वर्ष तक। ट्रेड यूनियन में प्रतिनियुक्ति पर यह लाभ बिल्कुल नहीं।

The choice came at a price, and that is the examinable point. A servant who joined BEFORE that date and did NOT opt for the widow pass continues to get 6 SETS of PTOs a year; one covered by the widow pass scheme gets 4 SETS.इस विकल्प की एक कीमत थी, और यही परीक्षा योग्य बिंदु है। जो सेवक उस तिथि से पहले आया और विधवा पास नहीं चुना वह वर्ष में 6 सेट पीटीओ पाता रहता है; जो विधवा पास योजना में आता है वह 4 सेट पाता है।

So the trade is two extra PTO sets during service against a pass for the widow after death.
