Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity (DCRG) is a LUMP-SUM payment made to a railway servant on retirement or on medical invalidation, and to the family on death in service.मृत्यु-सह-सेवानिवृत्ति उपदान (डीसीआरजी) एकमुश्त भुगतान है जो रेल सेवक को सेवानिवृत्ति या चिकित्सा अशक्तता पर, तथा सेवाकाल में मृत्यु होने पर परिवार को किया जाता है।

The maximum DCRG under the 7th CPC was Rs 20 lakh, and it has since been raised to Rs 25 LAKH.सातवें वेतन आयोग के अंतर्गत अधिकतम डीसीआरजी 20 लाख रुपये था, जिसे बाद में बढ़ाकर 25 लाख रुपये कर दिया गया।

Retirement gratuity needs a minimum of 5 YEARS of qualifying service. It is calculated at one-fourth of emoluments for every completed six-monthly period of qualifying service.सेवानिवृत्ति उपदान के लिए न्यूनतम 5 वर्ष की अर्हक सेवा आवश्यक है। इसकी गणना अर्हक सेवा की प्रत्येक पूर्ण छमाही अवधि के लिए परिलब्धियों के एक-चौथाई की दर से होती है।

If service is 15 years or less, retirement gratuity shall not exceed SIX MONTHS' pay. If service is more than 15 years, it shall not exceed 16.5 MONTHS' pay, and in every case it is capped at Rs 25 lakh.यदि सेवा 15 वर्ष या उससे कम है, तो सेवानिवृत्ति उपदान छह माह के वेतन से अधिक नहीं होगा। यदि सेवा 15 वर्ष से अधिक है, तो यह 16.5 माह के वेतन से अधिक नहीं होगा, और प्रत्येक मामले में यह 25 लाख रुपये तक सीमित है।

Understand the cap with an example — 11 years of service earns about 5.5 months' pay, 12 years earns 6 months, and 13 years still earns only 6 months because the six-month ceiling has been reached.सीमा को उदाहरण से समझें — 11 वर्ष की सेवा पर लगभग 5.5 माह का वेतन, 12 वर्ष पर 6 माह, और 13 वर्ष पर भी केवल 6 माह ही मिलेगा क्योंकि छह माह की सीमा आ चुकी है।

Above 15 years the same logic applies — 30 years earns 15 months, 33 years earns 16.5 months, and 35 years still earns only 16.5 months, subject always to the Rs 25 lakh ceiling.15 वर्ष से ऊपर भी यही तर्क लागू है — 30 वर्ष पर 15 माह, 33 वर्ष पर 16.5 माह, और 35 वर्ष पर भी केवल 16.5 माह ही, और वह भी सदैव 25 लाख रुपये की सीमा के अधीन।

DEATH GRATUITY slabs — less than 1 year of service gives 2 times basic pay; 1 to 5 years gives 6 times; 5 to 11 years gives 12 times; 11 to 20 years gives 20 times; and more than 20 years gives half a month's pay for each completed six-monthly period, subject to a maximum of 33 times basic pay or Rs 25 lakh.मृत्यु उपदान स्लैब — 1 वर्ष से कम सेवा पर मूल वेतन का 2 गुना; 1 से 5 वर्ष पर 6 गुना; 5 से 11 वर्ष पर 12 गुना; 11 से 20 वर्ष पर 20 गुना; तथा 20 वर्ष से अधिक पर प्रत्येक पूर्ण छमाही अवधि हेतु आधे माह का वेतन, अधिकतम 33 गुना मूल वेतन या 25 लाख रुपये के अधीन।

Government dues can be recovered from retirement gratuity, and from death gratuity in the case of a deceased employee, even WITHOUT obtaining consent.सरकारी देय राशि सेवानिवृत्ति उपदान से, तथा मृत कर्मचारी के मामले में मृत्यु उपदान से, बिना सहमति लिए भी वसूली जा सकती है।

The entire gratuity, after deducting Government dues, is WITHHELD where railway quarters have not been vacated, and also where any departmental or judicial proceedings are pending.सरकारी देय राशि घटाने के बाद संपूर्ण उपदान उस स्थिति में रोक लिया जाता है जहाँ रेलवे क्वार्टर खाली नहीं किए गए हों, तथा जहाँ कोई विभागीय या न्यायिक कार्यवाही लंबित हो।

For running staff such as Loco Pilots and Guards, gratuity is worked out on 1.55 times basic pay, and the Dearness Allowance element on 1.3 times basic pay.लोको पायलट और गार्ड जैसे रनिंग स्टाफ के लिए उपदान की गणना मूल वेतन के 1.55 गुना पर, तथा महँगाई भत्ता तत्व मूल वेतन के 1.3 गुना पर की जाती है।

The maximum ex-gratia payable to a railway employee for death occurring in the course of duty is Rs 25 lakh.ड्यूटी के दौरान मृत्यु होने पर रेल कर्मचारी को देय अधिकतम अनुग्रह राशि 25 लाख रुपये है।
