RELHS stands for Railway Employees Liberalised Health Scheme.आरईएलएचएस का अर्थ है रेलवे कर्मचारी उदारीकृत स्वास्थ्य योजना।

RELHS covers the retired railway servant AND the dependent family members — spouse, dependent children and dependent parents, on the same terms that applied while in service.आरईएलएचएस सेवानिवृत्त रेल सेवक तथा आश्रित परिजनों — जीवनसाथी, आश्रित संतान और आश्रित माता-पिता — को उन्हीं शर्तों पर कवर करती है जो सेवाकाल में लागू थीं।

The minimum eligibility is 20 YEARS of qualifying service. However, there is NO such condition for those who retire on superannuation.न्यूनतम पात्रता 20 वर्ष की अर्हक सेवा है। तथापि, अधिवर्षिता पर सेवानिवृत्त होने वालों के लिए ऐसी कोई शर्त नहीं है।

The member is issued a medical identity card, now carried digitally through UMID, and treatment is taken at any railway hospital or health unit.सदस्य को चिकित्सा पहचान पत्र जारी होता है, जो अब यूएमआईडी के माध्यम से डिजिटल रूप में रहता है, और उपचार किसी भी रेलवे अस्पताल या स्वास्थ्य इकाई में लिया जाता है।

The railway servant must exercise the option to join the scheme THREE MONTHS in advance of retirement.रेल सेवक को योजना में शामिल होने का विकल्प सेवानिवृत्ति से तीन माह पहले चुनना होता है।

Where the railway hospital cannot provide the treatment, the member is REFERRED to a recognised hospital. In an emergency, treatment taken elsewhere may be reimbursed under the prescribed procedure.जहाँ रेलवे अस्पताल उपचार न दे सके, वहाँ सदस्य को मान्यता प्राप्त अस्पताल में संदर्भित किया जाता है। आपात स्थिति में अन्यत्र लिए गए उपचार की प्रतिपूर्ति निर्धारित प्रक्रिया के अंतर्गत हो सकती है।

Joining requires a ONE-TIME mandatory contribution equal to the last month's basic pay or the scheduled rate, whichever is lower, and it covers the retiree and dependent family members.शामिल होने के लिए अंतिम माह के मूल वेतन अथवा निर्धारित दर, जो भी कम हो, के बराबर एक बार का अनिवार्य अंशदान आवश्यक है, और यह सेवानिवृत्त तथा आश्रित परिजनों को कवर करता है।

A railway servant who RESIGNS is not eligible for RELHS. The scheme follows retirement, not merely the end of service.त्यागपत्र देने वाला रेल सेवक आरईएलएचएस का पात्र नहीं है। यह योजना सेवानिवृत्ति के साथ चलती है, मात्र सेवा समाप्ति के साथ नहीं।
