Region A is Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, with Delhi and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.क्षेत्र 'क' है बिहार, छत्तीसगढ़, हरियाणा, हिमाचल प्रदेश, झारखंड, मध्य प्रदेश, राजस्थान, उत्तर प्रदेश तथा उत्तराखंड, साथ में दिल्ली एवं अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीपसमूह।

Region B is Gujarat, Maharashtra and Punjab, with the Union Territories of Chandigarh, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Three States and three Union Territories.क्षेत्र 'ख' है गुजरात, महाराष्ट्र तथा पंजाब, साथ में संघ राज्यक्षेत्र चंडीगढ़, दमन और दीव, तथा दादरा और नगर हवेली। चंडीगढ़ क्षेत्र 'ख' का एकमात्र संघ राज्यक्षेत्र है।

Region C is everything else — the South, the East and the North East, including Telangana, Puducherry and Lakshadweep.क्षेत्र 'ग' शेष सब है — दक्षिण, पूर्व तथा पूर्वोत्तर, जिसमें तेलंगाना, पुडुचेरी तथा लक्षद्वीप सम्मिलित हैं।

An office is notified under sub-rule (4) of Rule 10 once 80 per cent of its staff have acquired a working knowledge of Hindi.जब किसी कार्यालय के निर्धारित अनुपात में कर्मचारी हिंदी का कार्यसाधक ज्ञान प्राप्त कर लेते हैं, तब वह नियम 10 के उप-नियम (4) के अंतर्गत अधिसूचित किया जाता है।

Name, designation and sign boards, and forms used by the public, are trilingual in the order regional language, Hindi, English. A rubber stamp is bilingual, one line Hindi and one line English.नाम, पदनाम तथा सूचना पट्ट, और जनता द्वारा प्रयुक्त प्रपत्र त्रिभाषी होते हैं — क्रम है क्षेत्रीय भाषा, हिंदी, अंग्रेजी; रबर स्टाम्प द्विभाषी होता है, एक पंक्ति हिंदी और एक पंक्ति अंग्रेजी।

Station announcements, roof boards and train panel boards are trilingual, in the order regional language, Hindi and English. The roof board carries all three in equal proportion.स्टेशन उद्घोषणाएँ, छत पट्ट तथा गाड़ी के पैनल पट्ट त्रिभाषी होते हैं — क्षेत्रीय भाषा, हिंदी तथा अंग्रेजी — और छत पट्ट पर वे समान अनुपात में होते हैं।
